I'm Eccentrica, I'm an 18 year old girl from an alien planet in a distant star system that you wouldn't know the name of. Currently living on Earth of course, but I'm only visiting. Unfortunately my flying saucer is broken and it's rather difficult to source parts here. It's, erm, a W.I.P to say the least. To be honest, it's been so long since I was last home, I'm not really sure I'd feel any less alien if I do somehow manage to get back. So I try and make do!
Anyway, I'm bored by the constraints of social media and need somewhere more niche to talk about myself (one of my favourite activities). My HTML is not bad it's just very authentic to the 90s web! Or at least that's what I like to tell myself.
En mi tiempo libre (as they say in La Bella Espana) I like to dress in a strange and usually weather inappropriate style, eavesdrop/people-watch (sunglasses are a must), go to local gigs or go out clubbing, sunbathe, surf the net, watch YouTube, listen to BBC radio dramas, charity shop, embroider my clothes and get drunk.
Although my absolute all time favourites and first love in music are the Beatles (George Harrison is in fact my long-term boyfriend), at the moment I'm into hyperpop(?I have no idea what this kind of music is called) - Bassvictim, Snowstrippers, the Hellp, 2hollis etc. Other electronic music faves include horsegiirL, Charli xcx, Joost Klein, the Dare, Confidence Man, Jamie xx and Ski Aggu (*mutters under my breath about being cringe but free*).
For guitar based stuff I obviously go in for the all the other 1960s greats like the Rolling Stones and the Who, plus Jimi Hendrix etc. And I LOVE country music from the sixties - they were doing Lana del Rey's schtick before it was cool (love her music too, but so does everyone). Patsy Cline did it best, but I'm also completely, totally, irrevocably in love with Townes van Zandt - google him, he's SO fit and the music is even better.
I love the X-Ray Spex, Mommy Long Legs, Bikini Kill riotgrrrl vibe and am also sort of one foot in, one foot out when it comes goth-y post punk like Siouxsie and the Banshees, who I love. The Smiths are pretty good; and the Cure, but I prefer a woman's voice for that kind of music. Also an ex-kpoppie but I still check in occasionally. Stray Kids were my favourites circa 2021 but they kind of fell off after Back Door. Right now I'm closely following the NewJeans lawsuit; I think scandals are the most interesting part of K-Pop to me.
